I am Arup’s global skills leader for environmental services engineering and work on a wide variety of projects related to water and wastewater systems.

I believe in order to manage that most precious resource, water, we need to take a truly integrated approach. Sustainable water management requires a multi-disciplinary approach between government, engineers, planners, economists and wider society taking the long term view.

Outside of Arup, I am a member of various industry expert groups related to water and wastewater systems, including advising the government on revisions to the Building Regulations. Also, I have been involved in the development of many British and European standards and am currently working on a strategy for appropriate water re-use standard. I am Immediate Past Chairman of the Society of Public Health Engineers (SoPHE).
